The holidays are upon us. From today until the end of the year, a series of events promoting books will take place. And this blog is participating in a few fantastic celebrations!
I love these type of promotions, because they either offer books at a discount (sometimes even free) or opportunities to win prizes. Or both! In the giving spirit of the holidays, I’ll be hosting giveaways too! A few of them will be together with other writer friends; the others will be exclusive to this blog.
It all starts today with the massive 2012 Holiday Blog Hop!
Over 60 authors got together to showcase their books and give away incredible prizes. Among them, TWO Kindles Fire HD, gift cards, and a truck load of books and ebooks! In my blog, one lucky winner in the US or Canada will get a pair of great movies on DVD: Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.

In my opinion, the romantic feel of those movies fits this time of the year. Who wouldn’t like to cuddle with a loved one on a chilly night and watch one of those well-acted, beautifully produced period pieces? And, as you probably know, Jane Austen’s dialogue rocks!

This year I’m taking advantage of being able to purchase a discounted book at Amazon during the sales periods, but just gifting them close to Christmas. When I click, “Give as a Gift,” Amazon gives me the option to have the book delivered later. Printed book gifting (and receiving) has been a part of my life for many years. But now most of my friends seem to prefer e-readers, so it’s nice to have a digital copy waiting for them.

LOVE Pride & Prejudice! I read it early in middle school, shocking most of my classmates and teachers. Then of course it became a big thing with that movie, so most of the girls at least got it

Oh yes, I love the promotional sales that Amazon has on books. It’s satisfying to be able to purchase a book that you’ve been wanting for a lower price than it would have cost originally,lol. Anyway, thank you for the giveaway and I wish you a happy and safe holiday season.
